future

During my first year of studying Industrial Design, I started to develop a vision on design. The following years of my studies I want to develop this vision further and for my projects and courses to be in line with my vision and identity.
In the diagram below it’s possible to see my division of competency development as it is now and how I would like it to be in the future, in line with my current vision and identity.

To get here I will set goals for myself. My future can be described by means of short-term and long-term goals.

Short term

My short term goals include developing the User & Society competency and broaden my knowledge about the integration of new technologies in society. To learn about this I be following the use learning line of ‘The human in technology’ next year.
Also my top 3 squad choices I entered for project 2 are, at 1 Vitality, at 2 Physical and social rehabilitation, and at 3 studio silver. All strongly focusing on users and solving user problems.
But beside this I also want to keep developing my design skills and keep practicing with the Adobe programs, Processing and Arduino, and Audacity. Over the summer I will also develop my Business & Entrepreneurship competency in particular because I will try to contact Industrial Designers in the work field and ask them questions about their companies and life behind their studies.

Long term

​For my long term goals the focus lays mainly on doing an internship in my third year as Bachelor student. I will do research to Design companies all over the world and find out what I consider important to learn during my internship ​and where I would be able to learn the most.
